Black Thursday

Rostrum The ancient narrow pathway had become so bad that they could not find their way to their destination as the three moved in a grey Honda Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) being piloted by Dayo who was very mindful of the steering. It was on a Thursday. The 35-year-old Misters Dayo, Emeka and Okon were old time friends who reunited just a few days ago at Nsukka in Enugu State having lost contacts about eight years back, or thereabouts, after their graduation from one of the reputable higher citadels of learning in Nigeria situated in the Eastern part of the country, precisely University of Nigeria Nsukka popularly known by its acronym ‘U.N.N’. Tinubu commissions Landmark Projects in Imo, hails Uzodinma

Frank Musa
The Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu has graciously commissioned three landmark projects in Imo State, namely: the 52-kilometre Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Road, the Control-Assumpta Twin Fly-Over, as well as the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC).

In a colourful ceremony witnessed by numerous invited politicians across the country, royal fathers, public servants, workers, and, students, the President described the projects as laudable achievements by the government of Governor Hope Uzodinma.

In his remark, the governor stated that it was an indication to prove to the people that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remained a functional and human-friendly party in Nigeria, contrary to some persons' perceptions.

Uzodinma said: "The All Progressives Congress (APC) was birthed with a vision to provide Nigeria with a purposeful, progressive alternative to governance, grounded in equity, development, and national renewal.

"Over the past decade, our party has made significant progress in translating that vision into reality. From critical infrastructure to economic reform, security, and human capital development, the APC has charted a course that reflects commitment, resilience, and impact. "In my book, "A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria", I have attempted to document this journey in its fullness - its triumphs, its trials, and its transformation. "This work, consisting of ten chapters and a foreword by H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is not a self-congratulatory piece, but a reflective, honest examination of our performance in power. It offers insight into how far we’ve come, what we’ve done right, where we must improve, and how we can strengthen the progressive movement in Nigeria. "I deeply commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast leadership, bold reforms, and unrelenting dedication to the APC and to Nigeria. His vision continues to inspire our collective mission." The newly completed facilities, now open for public use, were celebrated with music, cultural displays, and widespread excitement.
