In a letter dated 11th July 2025, signed on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Association by Prof. Laz Uzoechi and Engr. Inuaeyen Nyaudo, the National President and National Secretary, respectively, and addressed to the FUTO Management alongside the Alumni Community, it was stated that the postponement was informed by the need to ensure an all-encompassing attendance among its overall members and FUTO graduates in their entirety.

While apologizing for the inconvenience caused, the invitees were meant to know that the event venues, which are the University campus and the city of Owerri, remained unchanged.

When reached via a telephone call, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Obinna Moughalu, disclosed that the notice was as a result of the resolution reached by the NEC during its emergency virtual meeting held on 10th July 2025.
