Frank Musa In honour of the Super Falcons' victory in Morocco in the just concluded Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has graciously conferred national honours on all members of the female football squad. The epochal event took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, July 28, 2025, upon arrival of the team from Morocco. The president also pledged $100,000 in naira to each of the 24 players and an additional $50,000 to the eleven members of the technical crew. UAES, Umuagwo advertises Post-UTME for 2025/2026 Session

Ben Achi The Management of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, situated in Imo State, Nigeria has graciously announced the upcoming Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (P-UTME) and Direct Entry Screening exercise for the 2025/2026 Academic Session of the institution. In a Press Release signed by the Registrar of the University, Prince Edward Njemanze, prospective candidates who chose, or did not choose, UAES as their first choice were enjoined to apply by adhering strictly to the laid down instructions. FUTO announces 2025/2026 Admission into JUPEB Programme

Kings Olajide The Management of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria has advertised the commencement of sale of forms for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. The programme is being coordinated under the aegis of the University's Centre of Continuing Education (CCE). In a public notice electronically signed by the FUTO Registrar, Chiedozie Uba, prospective students were advised to visit the University website, www.futo.edu.ng click here to digitally obtain the form as well as apply for the programme. According to the press release, the special programme, which reportedly lasts for one year, grants the candidates access to acquire the JUPEB Certificate upon completion. Canal+ acquires MultiChoice for $3bn

Frank Musa The French media giant, Canal+ has reportedly acquired MultiChoice Group in a $3 billion deal. The acquisition gives Canal+ full control of MultiChoice, the parent company of pay-TV services, DStv and GOtv. Canal+ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maxime Saada confirmed the acquisition via a statement issued on July 23, 2025. However, the transaction is expected to close by October 8, 2025, pending final approval from the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa. The total acquisition received the green light from South Africa’s Competition Tribunal on Wednesday after a long-anticipated takeover.
