Dangoke Refinery to commence Free Petrol Delivery Nationwide

The Management of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has graciously announced its plan to commence free nationwide direct supply of petrol, otherwise known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), starting September 15, 2025.

In a statement posted on its official X page on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the refinery said the initiative would commence in 11 states before expanding across the federation.

According to the refinery, petrol would be sold at an ex-gantry price of N820 per litre.

Retail outlets in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti would receive the product at N841 per litre, while stations in Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara would get it at N851 per litre.

“All petrol station owners nationwide are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits.” the refinery stated.

The refinery recently announced the acquisition of 4,000 CNG-powered tankers to enhance its distribution capacity, promising to save Nigerians over N1.7 trillion annually through its direct supply scheme.

Though the the initiative is targeted to ease fuel distribution challenges in the country as well as lower pump prices for final consumers, there is fear among industrialist that the gesture might disrupt the players in the downstream sector.
