Burkina Faso unveils first Electric Vehicle

Burkina Faso has graciously unveiled the country’s first locally produced electric vehicle model, called ITAOUA, marking a remarkable moment in the history of the West African nation.

This records a groundbreaking development in a country traditionally reliant on agriculture.

It's reported that all the parts deployed in the process of manufacturing the car were locally sourced.

The newly built vehicle could reportedly travel up to 330km having been charged, and can only take 30 minutes to be fully charged.

The President, Capt Ibrahim Traore, has promised to release sufficient funds to encourage young talents to come up with mass production of the electric vehicle.
